If you’ve found yourself gaining weight more easily, creaking a little at your joints, and finding it harder to maintain an erection, then you’re experiencing some of the very common signs of age.
Growing older is something none of us can stop or reverse — but there are ways to keep feeling fitter and ready-for-action well into your later years. In this post, we’ll explain how Ipamorelin and Sermorelin — human growth hormone-releasing peptides — can be used to combat all of the above and more.
What are HGH peptides and how do they work?
Human growth hormones (HGH) play a significant role in muscle mass, bone density, sexual libido, and performance. And the older we get, the less our bodies tend to produce.
HGH Peptide Therapy refers to treating the body with peptides by injection or oral/topical administration. Both Sermorelin and Ipamorelin can help increase the production and release of growth hormones in a natural and sustainable way — even if your body is making less of it for itself.
How does Ipamorelin vs. Sermorelin work to stimulate HGH?
There’s a lot that you could learn about how peptides (like Sermorelin and Ipamorelin) work, but we’ll keep this explanation to the basics.
Sermorelin is molecularly similar to GHRH (a growth hormone-releasing hormone) and binds to the GHRH receptor. This stimulates and prolongs the production of growth hormones while maintaining the natural ebb and flow of how your body operates.
Ipamorelin, on the other hand, works a bit differently and mimics a gastric hormone known as ghrelin. Ipamorelin binds to ghrelin receptors in the pituitary gland and stimulates HGH from there.
If we think of Sermorelin as a rollercoaster climbing steadily higher, then Ipamorelin is like a rocket ship — providing a short, sudden increase in growth hormone production.

TRT vs. Peptide Therapy: Which one should I be on?
Many people choose to do Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) alongside Peptide Therapy. TRT is primarily used to treat low testosterone levels, which can occur with age or as a result of a medical condition.
It’s possible to combine both therapies to boost the results even further. Patients who opt for Peptide Therapy only often tend to do so because they don’t qualify for TRT through their insurance.

Sermorelin and Ipamorelin FAQs
How do you inject Ipamorelin or Sermorelin?
Ipamorelin or Sermorelin are given by subcutaneous injection (under the skin). The evening is the best time to do so, as that’s the natural time for growth hormones to be secreted.
Ideally, the injections are given at least two hours after eating dinner. This way, the food you’ve eaten doesn’t interfere with the release of HGH. You should drink plenty of water during the treatment, too.
How much Ipamorelin or Sermorelin should I take?
The typical dosing is 300 mcg per day. In some cases, it can also be given 1-2 times daily at dosages ranging from 250/100mcg to 500/200mcg per administration. The smaller dose is taken twice daily and the larger dose is right before bed.
It can take 3 to 6 months to get the full benefit from Sermorelin or Ipamorelin injections.
What is CJC 1295 — should I take that as well?
CJC 1295 is also a synthetic GHRH, much like Sermorelin and Ipamorelin, and has been shown to increase hormone levels by 200-1000%.
You should start your peptide treatment with one supplement taken at the same time each day. It’s also advisable to begin with an eight-week cycle before building up to a maximum twelve-week cycle eventually.

What are the side effects of Sermorelin and Ipamorelin?
Sermorelin and Ipamorelin may cause some mild side effects, such as flushing, dizziness, headaches, or slight pain at the injection site. Some patients may also experience nausea with Ipamorelin too.
As you can probably see, the potential benefits of Peptide Therapy far outweigh the side effects. But if you’re still wondering whether this treatment is right for you, then you can schedule a consultation today.
